The 16-unit Bradberry Apartments on Pittsburgh’s North Side is a key component of Q Development’s Garden Theater Block development in partnership with Trek Development Group.
When built in 1902, the Bradberry Apartments were one of Pittsburgh’s very first multifamily apartment buildings and were recognized for their unique “fireproof construction.” Advertised at the time as one of Pittsburgh’s “finest buildings,” the Bradberry Apartments complemented the single-family row houses of the Northside and the stately mansions for which nearby Allegheny West is known.
The Frederick Osterling-designed corner building has the unique characteristic of having two differently designed facades and each was rehabilitated to preserve its unique style as a contributing building in the Mexican War Streets National Register Historic District.
Previously designed with shotgun-style apartments, the rehabilitation of the property included a complete redesign of the interior layout to permit more modern apartment configurations.
